The short version
- Jinsei helps you plan, cost, save toward and remember the experiences of your next chapter. To do that, we store what you tell us.
- We never sell your data, and we never use it for advertising.
- Some of what you share can be sensitive (a health note, who you were with) — we only use it to plan and remember your experiences, and only with your explicit agreement.
- You can export or delete everything at any time, from Settings.

1. Who we are

2. What this notice covers
How we collect, use, share, store and protect your personal information when you use Jinsei, and the rights you have. It applies to the Jinsei web app.
3. The information we collect
You give us:
- Account details — your email and first name.
- Your plans — the dreams you add, cost estimates, the amounts you tell us you've saved, and your steps.
- Your memories — notes and journals, ratings, photos you choose to add, the people you tag, and places.
- Profile choices — life stage, the town/area you're in, when you're usually free, roughly what you can save each month.
- Optional details — a birthday/anniversary, gift payment details you choose to display, answers in couples/shared planning.
Created as you use Jinsei:
- Weekly plans, savings progress, and simple usage events (e.g. "completed a dream") used to run and improve your experience.
Only if you turn them on:
- Location — your location at the moment you save a memory, to place it on your Memory Map. We do not track you in the background and never follow where you go. Photos you add may already contain their own location and time, which we read from the photo you picked.
- Notifications — a device token so we can send the nudges you asked for.
We do not collect: card details (these go directly to our payment provider, Stripe — we never see your full card number), and we do not use facial recognition on your photos.
4. Sensitive ("special category") information
Some things you tell us can be personal in a special way — for example a health or mobility note that shapes when a dream is best done, who you were with, or anything sensitive you write in a memory. We only handle these because you have given us your explicit, separate agreement at sign-up, and we use them only to plan and remember your experiences. 5. Why we use your information, and our legal basis

We use AI to help cost dreams, write your Year Story, answer your questions about your own plans, and suggest ideas. This assists you — it never makes a decision with legal or similarly significant effect about you, and we never give financial, medical or legal advice.
6. Who we share it with
We don't sell your data. We use a small number of trusted suppliers ("processors") to run the service, each under a contract that limits them to our instructions:

We may also share information if the law requires it, or to protect people's safety or our rights.
7. Sending data outside the UK
Some suppliers are based outside the UK (for example in the US). Where that happens, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the UK's International Data Transfer arrangements / Standard Contractual Clauses. [Confirm the specific safeguards per supplier.](to be confirmed)
8. How long we keep it
We keep your information for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, we delete your data. [State specific retention/backup-deletion periods.](to be confirmed)
9. Your rights
You can, at any time:
- See and download your data — a full export from Settings.
- Delete your account and everything in it — from Settings (there's no undo).
- Correct anything — edit your profile, dreams and memories in the app.
- Withdraw consent — turn optional features off, or withdraw the sensitive-data agreement (which removes those details).
- Object to or restrict certain uses, and ask about anyone else's details you've added.
To make a request, use the controls in Settings or contact [privacy@yourdomain](to be confirmed). We aim to respond within one month.
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, you can complain to the UK's Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk — though we'd like the chance to put things right first.
10. Cookies and similar technologies
